The Jao Floor

kept coming into this corner shop drawn in by the ceramic tile floor, utterly amazed at the classic timeless design, while walking between the shelves buying Badoit.

I wanted to bring the floor back to Brooklyn. I had to have this floor! So I took a few photos and we found a company in the USA who printed it for us onto floor mats, and rolls of flooring. Every time I am in Paris I visit the corner shop, holding my breath hoping it is still there. As the city of lights is so similar to my city of gritty NYC.

Everyday another old business closes, and a bit of history is lost forever.
